Chrysler Blue or just matte black to match my air cleaner?

For reference, what was stock?

Red, perhaps?

Rust it looks like. I think unpainted?
Blue is a common slant 6 colour, but typically older models

Perhaps. It would match the interior kinda

Black unless you are svending the shit out of the rest of the engine and bay, then color looks better.

Bed liner paint.
That makes it an off-roader, I think.

If you decide to apply paint, I’d suggest pulling the valve cover and having it dipped first. Or whatever they call the process of cleaning it completely inside and out. I did that to Rusty and it really improved the looks of things.

Duplicolor has a color called “cast coat iron” for a ceramic engine paint. It would look great and be easy to keep looking great.

Neither. Powder coat. Available in a very similar blue as well. Had mine done at Surf-Tech in Port Moody. If you’re not picky about color they can often give you a deal by doing it at the same time as a larger job contracted by someone else . I went red, so I had to pay, but red is the fastest color so I really had little choice in the matter.

If you go with blue get the sticker too.

Otherwise clean it real nice and either black or the hammered black and gray spray paint. Or have it power coated black.

And if I did it, I’d choose a grey color that complimented the body color.

I believe in the mid 80's chrysler started painting the engines a color known as boring black, when i rebuilt my diplomats engine i painted it chrysler blue and it was a great choice, engine bays are better with color.

Yes. And it would nicely compliment the color of the rest of the truck.

I like when engines are a colour, Its one of my favourite things about old cars.
anything but lime green or caterpillar yellow is acceptable.

Powder coat, do it right once.

My slant is still original blue. It’s always a welcome sight when I open the hood.

Oh, yeah and that light blue would be perfect.

Yeah, and I would probably take the air cleaner to be done as well. Matchy match

A bit of color can’t hurt, but I think either is considerably improved from how it is now

Was doing a valve cover gasket on my SAAB recently and happened to have black engine paint so brushed it off, cleaned it up and shot it. Cleaned off the letters too. Don’t know how long it’ll last but it looks great for now:
Dat red coil pack these B204 have is the sex.

I was going to suggest maybe just clean and polish and keep it stock? With the stickers, I’d probably go black but that’s me...

My vote is blue.

personally i’d go with the blue so its easier to see oil leaks etc.
